CLASSIQUE CARS AT TERRACOTTA VILLAGE
In my never-ending fondness for antique cars, it was satisfaction guaranteed to make my day when two Ford classics slowed down at the T-junction of Winston Churchill and 133 King Street at the Terracotta Village in Caledon. My curiosity was fulfilled with a sudden burst of joy as the twin pair of these fine models pulled up into the driveway of Terracotta Country Store, also to the delight of the people attending the 2nd Annual Buzzfest Arts & Crafts Show.
These beautiful and admirable Fords, in absolutely fine and immaculate condition, are owned by Kim Dawson and Daavid Sintzel. I had the pleasure of meeting these two gentlemen who later visited participants at the show, and also tasted and purchased Edna's Pickles.
Vintage cars always make my day.

When Autumn Leaves Start to Fall
Autumn begins today as we say goodbye to a summer that to some, never was. Nevertheless, the autumn leaves will soon start to fall - one by one - they must fall, but before that the leaves must change and present nature's array of trees in brilliant colour shades - a gamut of myriad hues with backdrop of blue skies. As the summer leaves, autumn leaves must fall!

Glimpses of Word On The Street, Tony Fernandes,Toronto
Glimpses of
'Word On The Street National Book
& Magazine Festival'
(25th Edition)
held on 21 Sep 2014
at Queen's Park Circle, Toronto.
Although at one point I feared that 'Word on the Street' (WoTS) would turn into 'Water on the Street' ,considering a horrible weather forecast, it turned out to be an overall nice day. We were lucky to have been blessed with sunshine in the afternoon to set a happy mood. Edna and I are proud to have participated in this well organized Festival. We were also very fortunate to have good and friendly neighbours, who with their wit and wisdom helped us get through a beautiful day.
And that's not all. We were surprised by yet another visitor of a different kind - one that was on the move - and it was none other than a bus called 'Dahlia' that appeared out of nowhere on a street near our booth, and we aptly called it 'Dahlia's Bus On The Street'. Why? Because Dahlia happens to be my daughter. What a coincidence and what a day!

A Room with a View of the Harvest Moon - Caledon, Ontario
THE HARVEST MOON
Caledon - Ontario
Harvest Moon from my Window - last night
Caledon - Ontario
Full moon closest to the autumnal equinox and this one coincided with its status as a supermoon
A harvest moon occurs at a specific time of the year. The moon officially turns full when it reaches the spot opposite to the sun. The harvest moon happens on 13:59 Greenwich time on the Saturday nearest to the fall equinox, which is September 23rd. Once in every three years we get the same full moon in October, but the one in September is called the harvest moon because farmers can continue their harvest late into the night by the light of the full moon. The same moon appears three days in succession, but the one that appears on Saturday is the one that receives this name.
Other names for this moon are the Wine Moon, the Elk Call Moon and the Singing Moon. It received the name of harvest moon because it appears in the Northern Hemisphere at the time of the year that coincides with the harvesting of crops.

ROSSBILT - Banjos and Ukuleles
ROSSBILT - Banjos and Ukuleles
Seen typically is Ross Stuart strumming away at one of his unique creations of ukuleles at any of his crowd-pulling booths
at Art & Craft Shows.
In pics above and below: At the recently concluded
Cabbagetown Arts & Craft Show in Riverdale Park, Toronto.
ROSSBILT
Musical Instruments
(in other words 'Hand-made or built by Ross Stuart')
(BTW, Rossbilt: pun intended)
Ross Stuart promotes and sells his unique art at Indoor and Outdoor Art & Craft Shows in Ontario.
I often see Ross at the Arts & Crafts shows that my wife and I participate in. On my usual rounds around the pathways and aisles at indoor or outdoor shows, I often stop by in my tracks when I hear the familiar strumming on one of these unique instruments by none other than Ross Stuart himself. I often pick up an instrument and join Ross at his booth. He always draws crowds around him to see his huge variety of beautiful resophonic tin can banjos and ukuleles. He also has a 5 string guitar (my favourite) which I had the privilege to play on. Apart from the above, he has hand spun resonator cones and folded metal headstock. The banjos are available with iron nut and welded headstock . Pick-ups are optional for the ukulele, no two instruments are exactly alike.
They are made to be played with full-bodied sound, strumming, picking or slide.
