May Flower Moon 2025

 

Last night, May 12th, 2025, the full "Flower Moon" was visible, but due to hazy skies, it may have appeared slightly dimmed or less distinct. This year's Flower Moon was also a "micromoon," meaning it was slightly smaller and dimmer than average full moons.

(The "Swiss Chapel" in Mapusa, Goa, isn't named after Switzerland, but rather commemorates a battle victory against the Bhonsles and Ranes from Sawantwadi by Portuguese troops known as "suíças" (meaning "with sideburns"). A mock battle was staged at Carnival during the Portuguese era.
